Hi Ken,

Since we have installed our Cembrit roof in 1999 we have had not had any concerns. No discoloring from the sea spray, even though we live less than 300 metres from the Atlantic Ocean on the windward side of the island. The speed of installation of the Cembrit infrastructure and panels during construction was amazing to our neighbors as it only took about 3 days compared to the 7 days taken by the much smaller shingle roof. Securing solar panels and a 200-gallon water heater tank on top of the Cembrit roof presented no problems for the local installers. Our roof withstood hurricane Ivan in 2004 with no damage or leakage. We were thankful for the reassurance added by the standard bolted down Cembrit panels as several homeowners on that part of the island experienced the lost of roofs which were nailed down.
