Dear Ken, Just to let you know that all our houses approximately 600 completed by New Era Homes Jamaica in Portmore and Angels Estates and our current project in Santa Cruz, have all withstood Hurricane Ivan and the Cembrit roof panels were not affected by the winds or rain. Apparently the winds were approaching 200 mph as Ivan approached the south coast and as you know, both developments are within 5 miles of the sea and therefore were effectively hit full in the face. We found the protection provided by the Cembrit panels to be exceptional, especially as they are installed over open steel trusses without any decking to act as a secondary defense. We were even more impressed they did not allow any moisture into the structure. With horizontal rain traveling approximately 200 mph, that is some achievement. Apparently hurricanes will be on the increase in the future due to global warming and it's good to know that we have a roofing system that can withstand up to the worst that nature can throw at us, at least so far. We are glad to confirm that we shall be using the Cembrit system as our standard on all our future developments and that we and our homeowners will be able to breath easy in the face of future storms.
